Artisan - Handmade by Owner
Home based artisan business with handmade products and no retail location. Products MUST be made by owner. If you do not make the products by hand you are in the small business category.
Buskers (Performance Only)
With a retail component. For example, caricaturists or recorded music. Sale of vendor products is not permitted.
Incorporated businesses with more than one existing retail location. I.e. Retail and grocery stores, financial institutions, realtors, professional services, fitness centers, travel agencies, franchises, restaurants, attractions and telecommunications companies.
Food and Drink - No Cooking Permitted
NO cooking, heating or preparation on site is allowed. Vendors cooking, warming or heating food items must be in a food truck or trailer unit. Prepackaged and cold food - such as: jams, oils, sauces, honey, cereal, chocolate, baked goods, ice cream, candy, coffee, teas, kombucha, drink mixes, fresh fruit juices, lemonade. NO GENERATORS PERMITTED.
Food Truck or Trailer
Mobile food trucks and trailers who are self contained. Please provide the length of the unit when registering.
Marda Loop BIA Businesses
Businesses who reside within the boundaries of the Marda Loop BIA. Two booth space maximum.
Not-for-profit or charitable organizations.
Importers, consignment, product representatives, businesses whose products are designed or purchased outside of Canada and imported for resale, or existing products that have been acquired for direct resale - one retail location maximum. Multiple locations are considered Corporate vendors.
Registration through the website with a credit card is the only form of payment. We no longer accept cheques.
WHAT IS PROVIDED FOR THE VENDORS BY THE FESTIVAL?

8’ banquet table (trunk sale vendors are not provided a table)
Lots of promotion and advertising on radio, TV and social media!
IMPORTANT FACTS FOR VENDORS
Marda Gras is a rain or shine event and has a NO REFUND POLICY after registration is complete.
Registration is first come, first served and there is no deadline to register. However it is recommended to register early as to not miss out on the opportunity to participate.
Vendors must arrive onsite at the time indicated on their set up instructions. The streets are closed to vehicular traffic at 9 am sharp.
Power and water are NOT provided to vendors. Inverter generators are the only type of generator permitted.
All vendor tents must have a CAN/ULC-S109 fire retardancy certificate and be weighted with 25 lbs per leg. The weight must be tied to the tent frame. It is an issue of public safety. You will be asked to take down your tent if you do not have proper weight for your tent.
The Festival Society of Marda Loop does its best to meet vendor requests, however we do not guarantee specific locations.
All items must be kept within 10′ of the curb. Display racks and tables included. You will be asked to move your display if you do not adhere to this policy.
Please note that you will be required to meet all provincial and municipal regulations.

If you are selling food, you must comply with Alberta Health Services standards and either complete a temporary food establishment vendor notification form or have an AHS mobile decal Number (CGY-000). A form must be completed if you are sampling items or selling pre-packaged goods such as pop or popcorn. Send this completed form to email@example.com.
